Got Diablo III a day before everyone else!

The title kinda gives away the point of this post, but before that, just a quick writeup.

Diablo III is scheduled to released on May 15th (tomorrow) worldwide, with servers going live at 3PM. There has been much hype about the release of this game, due to the makers Blizzard Entertainment being a reknowned game publisher, and Diablo II and I were successful franchises.

To be honest, Diablo isn't the best of games - it's pretty simple  in terms of gameplay (point and click) and is not as complex or visually engaging as some other RPGs that I know of. The skill/talent tree is nowhere as complex as other games (such as World of Warcraft or even, ugh, Maple Story). But somehow, the game is just THAT popular.

So anyway, I played Diablo 1 and 2 in my early teenage years (the game came out 12 years ago! Yes, a long 12 year break in between Diablo 2 and 3), and thus of course when Diablo 3 was announced I knew I would be playing it.

I pre-ordered mine from Qisahn, because they had the lowest price known ($65.90!). I've also had pleasant past experiences with them when I bought my PSP. Also, their service is quite good in the sense that they have office-hour livechat support! (i.e. a chatbox where you can ask queries on their website, and they respond really quick!)

Then, today I suddenly received an email from Qisahn saying that we could collect our Diablo 3 copies from their store. Wait what?! Isn't it scheduled to be released only tomorrow?! What sorcery is this?

I hopped on to their Facebook page and other similarly confused people were posting and trying to confirm if they could collect today. After some time, someone posted :

TRANSFORMERS, ROLL OUT!!

Ok I don't know why that line came out but basically, a switch flicked in me and I quickly got up from my seat and packed up to leave the office, and promptly headed down to Far East Shopping Centre.

Had an amusing encounter with a 20+ year old girl in ION Orchard - being the town noob I am, I had no idea how to get to Far East Shopping Centre so I randomly asked her. She was surprisingly nice and did an about turn to try to bring me there or at least closer there, despite my protests and request to just give me directions. When I said "It's ok I don't want to trouble you, just directions will do!" and she mumbled something about "it's ok... just shopping..." which I didn't quite catch and didn't clarify.

After a while I realized she didn't really know how and was kinda guessing, and when she finally brought me back to Orchard MRT and gave me directions to go via Wisma Atria, warning bells went off in my head (Wisma is in the opposite direction of Far East Shopping Centre/Wheelock Place), and I thanked her politely and said I would just try to ask someone else and find my own way.

ANYWAY. I found my way there eventually with my superior navigational skills (lolol) and got my 4 copies (collected for 3 other friends). What I found odd at Qisahn was that they didn't really check? The conversation between me and the guy was something like:

"Handphone number?" (for verification, supposed to send an SMS)

-I give him my HP number-

"How many copies?"

"4"

-Goes off to take 4 copies- "You paid already?"

"Yea I paid in full already"

"Ok here you go"

That was it! I didn't even get any confirmation SMS and I have a feeling he didn't even know my order or whether I had paid. I should have said 5? HAHA.

Hehe.

There's this nice little notepad included inside. The manual is disappointing though, just a short write up about each character class. I expected stuff like spells, tips, etc. But they just gave weblinks and ask you to go read yourself lol.

Tomorrow, when servers go live at 3PM, it's lock and load time!
