a metaphorical story (4)
"Remember son, only go for the dull yellow flowers!" said Momma Bee.
"But why, Momma? I like the bright yellow flowers! Their nectar is sweet and succulent they have a nicer shape!" said Little Bee.
"Son, those bright yellow flowers are waay out of your league. You need to be bigger and have longer feelers to be able to go for them. You just can't afford to go for them!"
Little Bee flew away angrily, buzzing as it went nectar-hunting. Little Bee loved yellow flowers. He would rather keep hunting for nectar in yellow flowers than blue or violet flowers like his male counterparts. Yellow flowers were generally for female bees as it suited them better.
As Little Bee was flying around, he saw a bright yellow flower in the distant. It was pretty and attractive, though not as attractive as other flowers he had seen before. It had a nice flowery shape, and looked very inviting. His momma's advice returned to his thoughts.
"Who cares, i'm a capable and strong bee, i can do it!"
Little Bee nosedived down towards the bright yellow flower and attempted to go for its nectar. It wriggled through the petals and tried to reach the nectar hidden deep inside. He tried and he tried but it was very difficult as it was deep down and the path was tricky.

hostel 2 / chuck & larry
woo, just watched 2 movies back to back, "now i pronouce you chuck and larry' and 'hostel 2'
chuck and larry was a super funny show! basically about these 2 good friends who are straight pretending to be gay so that one of them can claim some kinda financial benefits. Adam sandler is acting in it, so it's bound to be funny! haha. the lines are super funny
hostel 2 is a sick twisted show about this corporation which lures teenagers into this hostel in slovakia (dunno if i spelt that right) and then auction off these teenagers to rich people for them to torture and kill these victims.
Not as gory as texas chainsaw massacre, but some gory parts are just plain.. OUCH. >.< ask me about it in private if you wanna know :S
ok, gotta stop slacking and go mug. cya.

a rant on KFC and exams.
i think KFC has no brains.
Ok i'm talking about before the GST hike, which made their prices more expensive so it kinda makes a little more sense though still quite dumb.
Have you all eaten Shrooms Meal before? If you haven't, you either hate fast food or you live under a rock, so i suggest you go try it it's the most cost-efficient meal in the world.
It used to cause a paltry $2.55, before they realised the potential in it as EVERYONE was buying it cos it was ridiculously worth it and hence they jacked the price up to $2.75.
(20 cents seems small, but multiply it by several thousand a day..)
And many people won't just buy that meal alone, because what is KFC without the best dish in the whole restaurant, the delicious CHEESE FRIES? So people will upsize the whipped potato to cheese fries at the cost of $1.20 (used to be $1, again before they realised the huge potential in cheese fries) so the meal costs $3.95, all let's just take it as $4.00.
THEN, im sure you should know that KFC has these student meals offers, like some set will be at a special price for students. e.g. Zinger burger + drink , etc.
and they all cost $4.
The STUPID thing is that one particular combo is of Cheese Fries + Pepsi
Yep, it costs $4.
Where is the logic? So because you are a student you are more gullible so they try to cheat you of your money with this stupid 'offer'?
Ok in case you are really blur and don't draw the parallel : If you buy the Shrooms Meal +upsize to Cheese Fries, you get an additional Shrooms burger AT THE SAME PRICE as that student meal offer. (yes i know 5 cents cheaper to be exact)

Ah, first day of school after the prelims. The feeling now is kinda weird, it's like, i dont really wanna slack in school anymore. Got back 3 subjects' results, chemistry, physics and math. Got B for Chem, A for the other 2. Quite satisfied =) I worked hard this time (unlike BT2) so if i did badly i'd be devastated.
just hope i dont do terribly for GP, i know i screwed up the paper :S hope at least a .. C ? ok maybe D. ahhh.
Several of my friends are all stopping their game habits by the end of this week. Why why?? Not as if they're gonna study ALL the time. Realistically speaking, i don't think i will stop gaming. Not because i'm addicted or anything, i dont mind going out with friends instead of gaming or what, but... if i dont play games, there is nothing to look forward to after studying and there is nothing else to do when im resting from a day of studying.

damn im too nice
ah, prelims finish today woo. had physics MCQ, which was terribly bad considering the fact that it was terribly easy. well ok not super easy but A was pretty achievable. but i made ALOT of careless mistakes!!! damn irritating can. question say 'decrease by 90%' i read as 'decrease to 90%'
Then on my way home , between the MRT and my house, this indian man approached me asking for $1.50 to buy some spices or dunno what shit. our conversation went something like this:
indian : excuse me boy excuse me
nicekindgenerousme: -inquisitive look-
indian: can you.. er you speak english right, ya of course, er do you have a dollar, i need to buy spices and i'm a dollar fifty short.
nicekindgenerousme: where you going to buy from
indian: the market there
nicekindgenerousme: the market's closed. (for washing)
indian: ya the place near the market, there's a spice shop there, around there, or maybe sheng shiong
nicekindgenerousme: sheng shiong is that way -points in opposite direction which man came from-
indian: ya i know , shengshiong is there - points in some direction abit off from what i pointed- , but i usually buy from the shop near the market, so ill go check there first, if dont have maybe i go sheng shiong.
nicekindgenerousme: -considers a while-
indian: if you dont want it's ok , i mean, it's up to you. (he mentions some nonsense about from the heart or sth lidat but i didnt catch it )
nicekindgenerousme: -reaches into pocket - how much do you need?
indian: a dollar.. actually a dollar fifty if you have 2 dollars -holds up a 50cent coin-, that'll be exact.
nicekindgenerousme: -takes out a knife and robs the indiansucker of all his money which comprised of alot of dollar-fifties which he conned from other people-
that'll teach you to con ppl you piece of shit!
-walks away triumphantly leaving an A knife scar on his forehead-

ok no obviously that didn't happen. i gave him 2 dollars and he gave me the 50cent and thanked me profusely and said god bless and all the usual nonsense.
DAMMIT! i really gotta think faster and be less kindhearted. i was trying to test him i think when i kept trying to attack what he said (market closed, etc) , he responded quite normally so .. grr.
then when i told my mom about it she scolded me and told me about all the cheating monks and people around that area and singapore and told me to read newspapers more and that i got ggpwnd.

WOO!!! tmr is prison break season 3 premiere!!! finally!! after months of waiting!! it has finally come!!
i'm gonna buy myself a bag of chips (or pringles ) (cos pringles come in a tube not a bag) and enjoy the episode =D =D would be better if i could watch with bestie but oh well thats quite improbable
Ok the rest of the post is gonna be Prison Break related, so if you havent watched the show there's no point reading on, because you need to have some knowledge of all the episodes and the things that happened to understand the sarcasm in the jokes. =)

5 wasted hours
ok, had chem paper 1 and phys paper 2 today. phys paper 2 was in the morning from 8-915.. and guess what.. chem was at 2.30pm -_-
So basically we had a bloody 5 hour break. i tell you those were the LONGEST 5 hours of my life! we followed teehao all the way to punggol as he was going to meet his gf at her house then we threatened to follow him in. then in the end we didnt. then after eating there we came all the way backt o school.. and still left 3 hours!! wth man
basically idled away and studied a litle bit while waiting.. damn bloody long can.
after chem.. play loh! the group of us went to play LAN again. played the same games, i pwned at dota and line tower wars ^^ but they all fairly new in linetowerwars so no match la. :0
lol and one of the guys whom i was on the train home with asked 'eh i heard ure a professional gamer'.
HAHA I WISH.

Just heard on TV:
A dollar note (any value) is about 750000 times dirtier than a toilet bowl (erm after flushed duh, not like after someone just uses)
Apparently some scientists went to test the amount of germs and bacteria on a bank note and did the same for a toilet bowl, and came out with that result.
ew.
on a different note, i think the mocca ads are really funny!! haha. the girl searching for a maltese dog one is really classic, she is super gosu in her.. attention whoring skills =)
in case you have been living under a rock or dont watch singapore tv, here's the ad
and currently showing on tv is the muscular guy one.. that is damn funny also!!! hahaha. the kitchen is that way -poses-. roflll

bah. today's basketball not shiok.
played like nub for much of the day, like the first 3/4 of the time damn lousy. missed most of my shots, missed landi, etc. Then my team was danielchoo sherman and some big fat guy called aaron from.. bethesda sgoon i think.

Then he tyco tyco get one or two balls in.. but i have to admit his hook shot is nto bad. then .. i missed like almost all my shots la k damn demoralising. and qie also fumble.
Then afterwards aaron left and we were getting someone to fill in. i quickly asked gabs to join.. i like the chemistry when playing with him. we wil pass pass and runrun. at least we both will run la and got feeling.
Then when gabs join our team danchoo also start to qie , score alot sia! star player in our first game scored like 4 (we played race to 5) haha.
Then after that i start to become better also, sink alot of nice jumpshots. and fake qie blabla the usual.
meh i think something's wrong with my ankle. like the top part, the part where the leg connects to the foot. that muscle there keep feeling like it's gonna sprain.. and ache. ugh. oh no downgrade in army =X
ah ok, chem exam on tues. tmr gotta study le today so slack cya.

random rant
something funny i saw as someone's MSN nick:

Anyway, i was just thinking about this saying 'Aim for the stars - for if you miss, at least you'll reach the clouds' , which means that we should set higher goals, so that if we cant reach them, we'll reach at least something quite good.
THIS DOESNT MAKE SENSE AT ALL.
Assuming we always try our best in whatever we do, what we can achieve should be determined by our innate (natural) ability, not by the target we set. A simple analogy would be a high jumper - how high he can jump (his maximum) is determined by how powerful his leg muscles are - not by what target he set. He can set as low as he wants, but if he is a good jumper, he will be able to hit a certain mark.
The target we set should not have any effect on our achievable level, probably only to spur us on more. But if we always try our best, then it wont matter what target we set! Because we will always achieve our maximum achievable level, which is raised by PRACTICE (i had a tirade on the saying 'practice makes perfect' once ) , not by setting high standards.
Then some people argue that setting higher standards spur us on more, hence we will achieve something better, and we will be able to get closer to our maximum achievable level than if we have a lower target set.
But the problem here is not about the target isn't it? It's about our attitude. It's our lazy procrastinating slothful nature that seemingly makes this false saying true. If we truly want to succeed in what we're doing, we will/should put in our 101% to do something, what our target is should not affect the outcome! It's only because if we set a lower target, the laziness makes us slacken and work less hard and hence we achieve something below the target or something and we believe in that stupid saying.
At this juncture, i shall bring in my own saying -
Don't aim so high, so that you will be pleasantly surprised more often
=D
Isn't this true ? I dont see any possible rebuttal.
If you are capable of achieving like let's say an A or something. Then you aim for a B. Then when you get an A won't you be like yay! i exceeded expectations =)
That's what many students today do isn't it? That's why so many idiots go to school the morning of the exam and boast about how little they've studied, and how they're screwed. I don't know why everyone loves to compete to see who've studied less.. 'oh i just read through abit' and stuff like that. They want to create the illusion for themselves that they're gonna score low marks, so that when they do better than that, they are pleasantly surprised.
That's what i did for Block Test 2 too. I really slacked and played alot, so i didn't want to hope for much. So i aimed for poor grades, liek average Cs or something. In the end come out B B C, so i happy la, better ma.
Thus, we shouldnt set high targets just to hope we will get something slightly lower than that and still be not bad. We should just give our 100% in whatever we do, and set lower targets (but work your hardest!) , so that when the results come , the chances of being happy are higher =D

prison break in 12 days!
17th September
A date i've been waiting for AGES AND AGES AND AGES.
Prison Break Season 3 premieres on that day!!! The next day i'll have physics mcq paper but i dont care!! Prison break first!!
Gahhh michael's in that stupid prison now. A teaser has been released online, the first 17 minutes of the 1st episode. michael looks like he's gonna get into trouble man.

my mario run video
A video of my complete run through the infamous 'hardest level of mario' along with all the other 3 levels in that particular mod.
Actual play time was about.. 30 minutes?But took close to 2 hours in total just stringing them together and editting out the deaths for a continuous video.
1-1 : not much difficulty here, just some carelessness that led to re-loads. Was quite used to this level as i was previously stuck at 1-2 and so just kept playing this over and over
1-2 : had hell alotta difficulty at the last part which i had to squeeze into the hole..it seemed to go in only sometimes.
*have to wait till the falling platform falls below the screen before enterring the last pipe at the end, otherwise you simply appear in the other pipe room. (i think you are not supposed to hit the 1-up in that room either)
1-3 : a joke, just ran through.
1-4 :Took ALOT of time at the boss.. kept dying to his stupid lightning-fast fireball. got lucky in my last attempt when i kept out of his vision till i landed in front of him and hence could reach the hammer =)
Ahh. Satisfaction =D

i did it!!
woohoo!! i beat the entire game of mario! went to look at a few video walkthroughs on youtube, then after several hours of practising and trying.. i did it!
This is just after i hit the hammer after the last boss. That hammer makes the bridge underneath the boss (who you cannot touch at all) collapse, so he falls into the lava.
It's damn hard ok! He throws like 6 hammers out in rapidfire every 3 seconds and shoots this ultra fast fireball every now and then. GrAWLLL.
i rescued princess daisy and im gonna get laid!
haha ok no. when i press B it just returns to the main menu and i can start from 1-1 again. -_-
Soon when im good enough i'll video one of my runs and post it =)
ah anyway, yday went for BAY for the first time in a long while. was a part2 of a rescue Kel thing.. had to collect 'ransom' by finishing tasks such as 'Sing a happy teachers day song to a teacher' and 'cover a table with ketchup packets' and right below that 'eat up all that ketchup'
And we did! my group came in first as we returned to church first and did the most tasks =) woohoo. Yes we ate all that ketchup. i enjoyed squeezing ketchup into my mouth while being videoed. haha. no prize for 1st place though :(
OOH yes i must say I LOVE MY BEST FRIEND! ahhh. chris is so nice. she surprised me today when we were waiting for the BBQ to start, then she dug a tupperware container out of her bag and passed it to me. In it was a white-chocolate-orange-marmalade?-donut. =) -drool-
That donut was from some shop where you have to queue up damn long for (heard 1-2 hours ) and she bought it on friday (she told me in our SMS conversation) but she made no mention about buying one for me too.
So i just mumbled 'for me?' cos like quite touched then dunno what to say. then she just smiled and nodded. ahhh . so sweet can.. one of the nicest things anyone has done for me. hey i dont get random presents like that often k.
THANKS BESTIE!!
AHh and today for teacher's day celebration my class played 'That Thing You Do' ... full band.. and we only practised this morning!! wahaha. hope it sounded ok. i had no idea how to do the fill-in from the bridge-guitarsolo that's why it was a little messy
heh then after the celeb me joe-q abel were jamming randomly then Jim suddenly came and reminded me about BANG lunch.. then i was like OH YEA. i totally forgot. Uncle herold was treating BANG helpers to buffet lunch and i agreed last week.
It was at Hotel Royal in newton/novena (not sure. in between la).. got Josh and vivian(she not helper lor go there for free lunch :p ) there to pei me so was ok. The food was mediocre though. most of it was cold, not very nice also. the chicken wings tasted burnt and weird. >.<
Oh well free lunch hor.
