piece by piece

aight this post is pretty random but it's all about taiwan.

aircon weather
When we first got off the bus in Taiwan.. i felt a gust of cold air which i thought was from the insides of the bus.. cos it was the same temperature! Like the kinda feeling you get when you stand at the entrance of a 7eleven or something like that.

As it turns out, for the next 2 days, the weather was like that! it was really weird, imagine being outdoors and feeling aircon temperature kinda air touching your skin. super cold can! especially in the morning.

Burning Up
(a diary entry i made in taiwan)
There is a song title like that right?
Some Elvis song? gah. it's hot here.
Due to an unforseen circumstancce that i'm too lazy to elaborate on..
I'm in some safety vehicle. The weather must be.. 36 degrees celsius? higher? probably higher. and it's even hotter cos i'm in the inside of this enclosed vehicle, which kinda makes it like a sauna.
I just know i'm burning up.

040609
the day it rained for over 12 hours.
it started from the morning about.. 4AM? was woken up by the sound of rain but went back to sleep (only to wake about an hour later for the normal wakeup time -__- army sucks) anyway, it carried on raining till like.. 10+ at night?
the guys had to go out for some exercise, and when they came back.. they were all shivering and trembling.
sheesh, if they only experienced what we had in sispec - rain every single day of our field camp.

imagine sleeping at night with rain pelting against your face, your wet socks clinging to your feet and the wind slapping your huddled body.

You shiver - an involuntary muscoskeletal response that generates minimal heat within our body, our natural response to correct the imbalance - but you don't seem to get any warmer.
how to? the air around you is cold, the gusting winds and relentless rain serve as constant reminders that you'll never be comfortable.

Deep Fried GG-ness
Now, there was ALOT of ordering of food - practically every night? and the food is not like.. pizza or normal food - it was all deep fried, predominantly chicken cutlet (or 'ji pa' in chinese) . I think this is one of the causes of the next point.

Everything that came from the order menu was deep fried - be it tofu, sotong, chicken, chicken skin (yes they sold chicken skin. one small bag for about S$1++. )
Everyday i could literally feel the fats piling up in my arteries and getting myself ready for a stroke anytime.

Virus of GG.
Question - what's worse than falling sick one day before R&R?
Answer - waking up the morning of R&R feeling even worst.
(did i use the worse/worst correctly. hmm.)

Ok what exactly happened was, the day before R&R i started having diarrhoea. It was so minimal that it was almost un-noticeable - such that i didn't notice it till other people started faling sick, getting more obvious symptoms like vomitting, not feeling well, etc.
then i realised i've been to the toilet quite a few times and.. yea i had diarrhoea.

then the morning of R&R.. i woke up at freaking 3.40AM and had to go to the toilet. I stayed there till 4.30AM -_- Drifted back to sleep only to wake up at 5+ to start to pack up and leave the bunks.
First thing i said when i woke up, i turned to mao /zp next to me : "Die la i think i'm not going R&R already". ZP just gave the blur morning response while mao tried to be more optimistic telling me it was only the start of the day, maybe by night time i'd feel better.

I FELT TERRIBLE.

it was like my stomach was in a vice, and some sadistic torturer was turning and unturning the handle to squeeze and unsqueeze it. i still felt like going to shit and to top it off i had a terrible nauseous feeling and my head was spinning.

i got some medicine from the camp doctor and got a jab. i still felt like shit and i did go to shit countless number of times too while i was waiting to see him.

throughout the 1 day of guided tour, i felt like dying. i just wanted to -oops faint. then wake up in Singapore.
we went to some theme park which all i did was buy a hot cocoa and drink. There were alot of exciting rides - i've been there last time i went to Taiwan - but the only ride i took was the Toilet Bowl of Doom.

guess what i ate for lunch?
look at your thumb. that's the portion of rice i managed to swallow. ok no wait, probably half of your thumb. and i nibbled a piece off a piece of egg and couldn't eat anymore. It felt like i was gonna spray the table with vomit anytime.
dinner was the same.

In the end i slept in my hotel room the whole night, and the whole of the next morning/afternoon (till we went to the airport) Yup, went everyone was out for their Free and easy, shopping their hearts out, i was giving the hotel business. :/

so depressing right, fall sick during the R&R period. but by that time i was already in the 'cantwaittogethome' mood so it wasnt that bad. just.. sleep lor. anyway i shopped in Taipei before and it's good that i didn't get to spend more. can save to play WoW. HA.

speaking of which, just spent $69.90 on the expansion set of WoW la. Wrath of the Lich King. freaking ex!! :@ grr.
~~~
ok , i must thank xiaxue for giving me the inspiration to write again. Before, i was really lazy to blog and didn't know what to write. That was like .. the first part of this post? up to before 'Virus of GG' part was before. Don't know if you noticed a subtle change in the tone and everything after that.
After reading her blog i remembered what it was like to write and what it was like to have the.. exaggerated humour thing which i loved to write with last time. Hard to describe it. oh well the point is i can write non-stop now without having to struggle with words and think of what to say.
rawr.
photos? nothing much taken in taiwan, cos i was sick during R&R remember. may have more photos tmr, gonna hang out with bestie, we'll see =D
