yawn.

now @ 9:27... the guys at church camp probably having.. group discussion or something. Yea. then after that they're gonna go back to their nice hotel rooms.. have a shower maybe. and sleep. dang so weird to be not at camp and everyone's gone.

anyway, i went for my cousin's wedding today (the main reason why i didnt go for camp) @ Marriot Hotel. The first part of the programme was GOSPEL MESSAGE and there was like prayer and stuff...

Apparently my cousin's church they all talk like KJV ' i pray thy will will carry thy name to thine forth and . . ' . So that was how the person who prayed before the solemnization spoke. And the prayer was like one of those dontyouwishitendssoon prayers that is just SLOW (like 3-4 words at a time) and looooong.

Then came the message..ZOMG. He started off in the worse way possible : "This message will take .. twenty minutes" -CUE SIGH/GASPS- (im serious i could hear abit of this) "so.. let me carry on"
And the bad thing is HIS ENGLISH IS QUITE BAD.
"the lady was doing this. in another words, she meant that .. . "
WTHH!?! (there are more examples of bad english but im lazy to think of them , this was just the most glaring one)
And the whole thing was just really really boring i think half the ballroom was asleep and the other half was whispering to themselves.

Hmm and he told the story about Jesus going to meet the woman who was drawing water from the well. Then he says alot of irrelevant stuff like 'oh the woman went to draw water at noon, which is a weird time to draw water at. at noon the sun is usually quite hot (DUH) and so, it was unusual'
?!?!?!
And one thing i didnt get was .. yknow in the story the woman says she has no husband or sth lidat. then Jesus says 'you are right, you have 5 husbands and the one u are living with is not ur husband'.
Then the speaker said 'Jesus was being gracious when he pointed this out'.

?!?!?!?!? Does this not make sense or does this not make sense. So what.. he was being gracious by not.. killing the woman? :S i dont geddit. Then straight away after this he goes on to something else and doesnt explain much about his 'gracious' comment.

Anyway besides the lousy message , everything else was.. average. Besides the roast chicken which i swear is the best roast chicken i ever ate in my life, everything else was just sub-par.



THEN. remember my previous post i mentioned something about a nursery rhyme which i couldnt finish? And i forgot what it was? Well i was on my way home on a train.. and this little kid was making alot of noise. I was a little annoyed at first, then i realised he was chanting some nursery rhyme
'itsy bitsy spider, climbing up the -???-
down came the rain and washed the spider out'

THATS IT!! THATS THE NURSERY RHYME I WAS THINKING ABOUT! THANKS LITTLE BOY!

lolol. so does anyone know how to finish the nursery rhyme? those are the only 2 lines i know. and i dont even know what the last word is . i thought was 'wall', but it doesnt rhyme with 'out'. hmmm.

a random tirade at 'classics'

Practice makes perfect.

This is one of the biggest lies in history, and also a very grammatically incorrect phrase.

Firstly, 'perfect' is an adjective, so you can't MAKE an adjective. It's like saying 'Make-up makes beauty'. Totally wrong!! It's 'make-up makes one beautiful'.

Second, it's obviously false isn't it. Since we all know that perfection is not achievable, and noone has came close to achieving perfection (i'm not even saying all-round perfection, maybe like even small stuff like.. shooting a ball into a ring)
All we're doing is IMPROVING. We are just getting better at whatever we are practising, but we'll never ever ever hit perfection.

Hence, it should be 'Practice makes one improve' or 'practice is striving for perfection'. - alan teo 2007


Next .. isn't Humpty Dumpty a rather ridiculous nursery rhyme. It doesnt make sense at all and has zero educational value. At least Mary Had A Little Lamb teaches about sheep and its color. And twinkle twinkle teaches about stars. Humpty dumpty just leaves kids wondering what on earth is a humpty dumpty when they grow up.


AND lastly , ok there was a nursery rhyme or sth like that i was thinking about all week but forgot the ending of it. Was gonna ask for help here.. but i completely forgot what it was. ugh. ill post when i do.

ok i wore a shirt which becky from school gave me and also wore this nike chain(some people called it a necklace but i thought that's too girly. ha. CHAIN) that gabs bought from me from china to church yday.. and I really liked the look!!

Haha . i know some people were like :o wa why alan dress like that. but i was just trying for fun. and i liked it alot!! so i started taking pictures :p
