engrish ftw

wheeee i have a new mp4 player =) thanks to serene who gave it to me for FREE! yay like an early birthday present. haha. (i saw some of you squirm! cos u dunno when my bday is! wahaha. nvm im not one of those thickskinned ppl who advertise their bday like nothing lidat and put msn nicks like '5 days to my birthday' and stuff. ill let u find out urself if u're even interested in the first place :/ ahh) (no it's not in 5 days)


Howeverrr there's a catch. it's some louya jap brand. haa. so it's like.. quite lousy. very not user-friendly, but it'll suffice! i just wanna play music. (in case you dont know, mp4 player can play videos and music)

anyway, the instruction manual is SUPER FUNNY. it's like originally jap i think, and it was translated to english.. the translations are DAMN BAD. hahahha.

here're some excerpts for you to laugh at -

Ok firstly the word 'elucidation' appears REALLY often like all over the place. so im like.. ?? cos it didnt make much sense:
"The function elucidation of the POWER key-
"1.5.1.1 Elucidation: The standard ... ... "
After checking the dictionary i realised it was just a bad translation for EXPLANATION.

"Activate the position manifestation for blue carry bottom on blue's back"
???

"The screen is divided into the top and bottom two part, in principle LRC in of a line of to should one part namely 14 Chinese characters, if a line of 14 Chinese characterses with precious sight more lyrics within LRC, please at this time to put another part manifestation, each the part adoption average metod calculate synchronous time label" (i didn't make any typos)
???

"While entering each time, all enter to broadcast the mode, need the insaturation to prepare to save the broadcasting station at present, and broadcast, while entering the first time, current of hte broadcasting station orders for the minimum frequency"
? This is the introductory paragraph of the section 'Broadcasting station of FM' . no idea what the heck it means

"Short press Rec key to enter the interface
Grow to press REC key to enter recording appearance of FM
Grow to press MENU, enter the submenu of FM
Grow to press play to shutdown"
this phrase 'Grow to' appears throughout the booklet.. i have a feeling it means to press and hold. lol.


"General customers of the MP3 will be perplex by 'the data divulge a secret', dont wish to let own 'personal data' see by the other people, can delete these 'privacy's first only while being the friend to use the MP3, resulting to the very big trouble thus"
i have absolutely no idea what the heck this is about, something about running two different set of programmes i think.


and what i think is the best mis-translation of all:
"Use auto manhunt function . . . ."

This had me thinking for several seconds.. and i realise it meant 'auto SEARCH' function.


It was a really bad idea reading this screwed up manual the night before my GP exam =X hahaha. gg pwned.
