can you tick tick tick tick tick tick

pop and lock and drop it?

I have a new favourite dance crew! Well not my all time favourite, just one more to add to the favourites list along with Jabbawockeez and Kaba Modern (both from S1 of America's Best Dance Crew [ABDC] ).

BEAT FREAKS!

A bunch of ladies who can really pop and lock really well. This performance was probably the best in the whole season for me, watch 1:05 for some sick ticking. My favourite part!
Their locking from 1:25 onwards is really clean and nice to watch too. Loved it totally!
Of course, there was the 'magic' element (the levitating ball! how they do?!)

It's a pity that they didn't win eventually (they got runner-up), but i have to admit that QuestCrew (the champs) are pretty damn good too. (their air flares.. flares on elbows.. wth!) And the final 'make or break' performance i thought Beat Freaks didn't do as good as QuestCrew too.

Anyway, here are a few more of my favourite performances of theirs:

This was just sooo sick. I actually like this one as much as the first one, maybe abit more as a whole performance, just that the 'can you tick tick tick tick' part in the 1st video totally trumps everything so it made me prefer it abit more.
Anyway this video has sick isolation (first 20seconds of video) and probably the top 3 best headspins in the history of ABDC (jabbawockeez did an uber long headspin in their season too, 2nd last performance i think) .
In case you missed out something subtle she did during the headspin, watch it again (0:57 - 1:25... wow a 30 second headspin?! ) .... the amazing part is at 1:03 (you probably have to pause it or watch slow mo or something) .. she actually takes out her shades and PUTS THEM ON MID HEADSPIN.
HOW FREAKING SICK IS THAT!!

Them dancing to Womanizer!
For some context why this was SO good, it's because they like have this punk rock chick persona, so 'sexy' dancing isn't really normal for them. And they don't like show skin normally, etc. So when they nailed this dance so well.. gasp.

Ah, ABDC is awesome. wtb more seasons.

Can you tick tick tick tick tick tick pop, lock and drop it?

Welcome to the World of Casualcraft

This. is. f-ing. ridiculous.

Latest news about WoW: Cataclysm -

We're continuing to refine the raid progression paths in Cataclysm, and we'd like to share some of those changes with you today. Please enjoy!

The first of the refinements being made is that we're combining all raid sizes and difficulties into a single lockout. Unlike today, 10- and 25-player modes of a single raid will share the same lockout. You can defeat each raid boss once per week per character. In other words, if you wanted to do both a 10- and 25-person raid in a single week, you’d need to do so on two different characters. Normal versus Heroic mode will be chosen on a per-boss basis in Cataclysm raids, the same way it works in Icecrown Citadel. Obviously the raid lockout change doesn't apply in pure Icecrown terms though, as this change goes hand-in-hand with a few other changes to raid progression in Cataclysm.

We're designing and balancing raids so that the difficulty between 10- and 25-player versions of each difficulty will be as close as possible to each other as we can achieve. That closeness in difficulty also means that we'll have bosses dropping the same items in 10- and 25-player raids of each difficulty. They'll have the same name and same stats; they are in fact the exact same items. Choosing Heroic mode will drop a scaled-up version of those items. Our hope is that players will be able to associate bosses with their loot tables and even associate specific artwork with specific item names to a far greater extent than today.

Dungeon Difficulty and Rewards
  • 10 and 25-player (Normal difficulty) -- Very similar to one another in difficulty; drop the exact same items as each other.
  • 10 and 25-player (Heroic difficulty) -- Very similar to one another in difficulty; drop more powerful versions of the normal-difficulty items.

...

We design our raids to be accessible to a broad spectrum of players, so we want groups to be able to make the decision about whether to attempt the normal or Heroic versions of raids pretty quickly. The goal with all of these changes is to make it as much of a choice or effect of circumstance whether you raid as a group of 10 or as a group of 25 as possible. Whether you're a big guild or a small guild the choice won't be dependent on what items drop, but instead on what you enjoy the most.

So in summary, Cataclysm raids for 10 and 25 man will share the same lockout (you cannot do both 10 and 25 in a single week, it's EITHER OR) , they will share the exact same loot (unlike now where 25m loot>> 10m loot) and all this is.. why?

"We design our raids to be accessible to a broad spectrum of players"

Which paraphrases to
"We want more casuals to play the game so that we can earn more money".

Like seriously? The game is already going down with all the casuals hopping on and playing like shit and ruining the game for others, and now they're revamping the system in the hope to attract more casuals to play.

This is on top of the lame changes to the stats system such as removal of key stats like Spellpower/Defense/ArP to simplify the whole thing (to make it easier for casuals, i suppose)

Guess what blizz? You're going to lose a huge portion of your hardcore/serious players because they cbf to play this game anymore. What's the point of raiding in a 25man guild now, everyone will be doing 10mans instead for obvious reasons, such as being easier to coordinate, less logistics issues (people not turning up)
AND, them sharing the same lockout means players have to CHOOSE between 25 OR 10. Who in his right mind will choose 25 when 10man will obviously give you higher chances to get loot, easier raid, etc.
So goodbye 25mans, welcome 10mans.

And goodbye World of Warcraft, welcome World of Casualcraft.

I like this song.

All the Earth by Parachute Band, Cover by the choos.

Well they do alot of songs and I dont think i've ever posted any here. But i just liked this particularly. Whether it is the melodic plucking from ham throughout the whole song complementing dan's lead so well, the rare harmony from dan (usually ham harmonizes), the mysterious way how dan and ham can play different chords and complement each other so well, the awesome lyrics... i don't know. One of them.

All the earth
Will declare
That Your love is everywhere
The fields will exalt
Seas resound
Hear the trees
Joyful cry
Praising You and so will I
A new song I'll sing
Lord I will
Glorify and bless Your holy name

gimme one

onward we go

NBA playoffs started a few days ago, and my 2 favourite teams are steamrolling their way through :)

Well i used to support Lakers, but after watching Kobe solo so much i got tired of their gameplay, and support Celtics instead!
Celtics really play very good basketball, with the big 3 as everyone knows (Pierce, Garnett, Allen) and the much overlooked RAJON RONDO!

Rondo is the point guard of this Celtics team and he is VERY hardworking. He chases like every ball, leads the league in steals per game, set the franchise record for most assists in a single season, and almost averages a double double the whole season, and gets a triple double from time to time. He rebounds alot too! for a POINT GUARD. that shows how hardworking he is.
Seriously, he needs more media attention.

Anyway, Game 2 was just over and Lakers and Celtics are both 2-0 up against their opponents. Game 3 is tomorrow! Hope Celtics win all the way.

Here are the videos of Game 2

Celtics vs Heat Game 2 (Hightlights)

Lakers vs Thunder Game 2 (highlights)

Oh for this game 2 i have to admit Kobe was leet. He just took over in the 2nd half by making hell alot of shots.
And what i still love about this team is Ron Artest's defence! It is said that he is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the league atm. And he totally locked down Kevin Durant (top scorer in the NBA this season.. and he's only a rookie!) in game 1 making him shoot 4/24 or something like that. Durant scored more in Game 2 but he was quite hounded by Artest.

Good stuff! Go Celtics!

improved phishing site

If you use MSN Messenger, I'm sure at some point in time you have received some msg from some contact that goes something like 'Hey! have you heard about the awesome slimming pills from Oprah's show? visit [website link here] for more info! They really work!!'

If you stupidly went to click it, it would have corrupted your system with the same malware that made your friend's MSN send these messages out. Even worse, some of these sites may be phishing sites, meaning they actually steal your passwords by tracking your keyboard strokes.

Well so usually these malware progs only send ONE message to you, and it stops at there. (well at least i think so, i've never actually tried replying them since i know straight away it's a fraud)
Today i encountered an improved one:

WARNING: Please do not visit any of the links you see in this post, it'll probably be some phishing site.

Photobucket
This person just started messaging me when i came on, so I just wondered who it was. Then when he(or she) mentioned a website, i knew it was some lame phishing thing already, hence my reply.

.
.

Photobucket
At this point, it became apparent to me that it was some kind of automated response program, since it wasn't even replying correctly to my responses.
So i started saying random stuff to test whether i'm right:

Lol! I outlasted the bot! hahahah. it ran out of responses I guess.
WINNA.

Celestial Steed and Lil'XT to be sold in the Blizzard Store
According to the Blizzard store, the Lil' XT companion pet and the Celestial Steed mounts will be available from the Blizzard Store! This is the first time Blizzard sells a mount through the Blizzard store, we don't have the price yet but we can assume we'll hear about it very soon.

The Celestial Steed seems to scale depending on your existing mounts. If you already have a 310% flying mount, the celestial steed will be a 310% as well. If you don't, it will just be a regular 280% flying mount. (or 150% if you never bought the epic flying skill)

Photobucket

The Celestial Steed costs 25 USD. And within one day of this deal being launched... i see like 129387 of those Steeds all around my server.

BLIZZARD IS DAMN FREAKING RICH CAN. They spend like, a few hours drawing the model for this mount, and they probably earn like a few hundred thousand.

Why do people throw away their money like that? Throw at me can? I don't mind.

And anyway, the SAS vs ACS(I) issue is STILL making the papers. Today it's still the front page of the sports section. Full page sia. Bigger news than Arsenal being out of the title race after losing 2-1 (they can just go and die btw, useless team. Lakers can also go and die. Go Celtics)

Apparently now the parent of the ACS(I) boy who kena punched made a police report. -_- Seriously, ACS(I) -related people are too rich and are too free. I bet they want to sue cos well, they have the money. And they won't stop till the SA boy is like, in boy's home or something.

This world is crazzzy.

Oh, anyone wants to go CJC Dance Concert? 30th April, Friday.

Monday 12 April 2010

oh when the saints go marching in

What school were you from?

When some people are asked this question, they respond meekly and softly with the name of their school if it's some neighbourhood school or some relatively unknown school. Those from more prestigious schools like raffles, hwa chong, tend to declare it abit louder.

For me, I have always announced my school proudly; my only school for the 12 years of my education thus far - St Andrew's :)

I don't know why, but I am just proud to be from SA. It could be the school spirit that is undeniably omnipresent in the school, continually instilled by members of faculty. It could be the unity that the school tries to foster, by making students go down to watch sports finals. It could be the pride of being called 'Saints'. I don't know. I just love it.

And one favourite tradition of the school has always been Rugby. We take great pride in being good at it, and as such always want to win. Throughout my term in SAS, rugby has been strongly emphasized and the school is always called down to watch the finals (yes, it's practically a yearly thing)

Oh yea, our yearly opponent is always the same too. ACS(I). It becomes a pretty intense rivalry, given you face the same opponent year in year out.
Some years we win, some years we lose. I still remember in my Sec 1 year, we got whipped pretty bad, so bad it made the Straits Times. 83-0 was the scoreline i believe. 'Record thrashing in Rugby Finals' or something were the headlines. Most lopsided scoreline in the HISTORY of the finals.
I remember watching the game - the ACS(I) guys were just far superior - it was 'C' Div (sec 1 and 2 kids) and while the SA guys were normal sized, the ACS guys were all like with 16year old bodies. I'm serious. And they were skilled too.

Anyway, the rivalry of ACS and SA has made it to the papers again. This time, freaking HEADLINES of straits times. wow.

Rugby Free-for-All
Photobucket
(photo taken from Straits Times)

Staff, students and supporters of St Andrew's Secondary School and Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) rushed onto the Old Police Academy pitch when a fight broke out between the teams after the Schools National Under-17 Police Cup Final, which ACS(I) won 8-7. ACS(I) player Leonard Wee was injured int the mouth and taken to the hospital. Two of his schoolmates were allegedly assaulted by a nearby bus stop after the match and one suffered a broken nose. ACS(I) sports secretary Chan Chee Wei said the boys' parents have made police reports.

How dramatic. Even back then when we were totally whipped with a record breaking scoreline, there wasn't any pushing or shoving after the game. As the old adage goes : "Football(soccer) is a gentlemen's game played by thugs and rugby is a thug's game played by gentlemen".

Pretty exciting huh, free for all after the game. Apparently if members of staff and such didn't step in to break apart the two schools, it would have turned out to be an all out melee. THAT would have made headlines for consecutive days.

It's quite ridiculous how ACS were made to seem like the victim here. Oh, only the ACS guy got injured, ACS boys got assaulted, must be the scums from SA who attacked him, oh, they punched that fella in the face, how bad.

I mean, i'm sure there are people from SA who have sustained some injuries too, just not as severe as the ACS kid i guess. Or maybe the reporter is just some old ACS kid ("ACS remained the dominant side for most of the first half... ") who collects injury reports from the ACS side.
Who knows.

Although I'm abit disheartened by such negative media about my alma matter, I'm still a Saint, and i still support St Andrew's. Up and on!
(guh such a cheesy typical ending)

A love song for

V1
E A
Beautiful morning
I'm sitting alone
E A
The sun rises over the sea
I'm on my own

V2
Searching for an answer
Where have you been
Begging the question
hope you know what i mean
when i say

CHORUS:
E C#m
You take my breath away
A B
With your glances, resist my advances
i'd like for you to stay
to hold my hand, so i can stand, tall.

V3
Put your hand in mine
Don't make me say it twice
You know i love you
I hope my heart will suffice

Sunday 4 April 2010

This is the end.

The time has come.

Before i say anything, a screenshot of win:

Photobucket
how much higher can i go? probably alot more, cos for this one i hit about 35k and then all the healers were in portals while i was trying to end the fight. zz. so it dipped down to 31.8k.

Anyway.. I have decided to .. -drumroll -. .. ..... quit WoW.

:O
Well ok not quit, but go casual. So I won't be raiding 25mans on 3-4 nights a week anymore, but rather just do 10man raids about twice a week (in the past was BOTH 25 and 10man)

Why? well because my current guild (the top horde guild on the server too :S ) used to raid from 230-630pm for me, which is pretty ideal time, since dinner is about that time and i'm giving tuition which starts at 8 so there's enough time to eat/travel there.

BUT. Apparently there's this nonsense called Daylight Savings Time (DST)
DST: System for uniformly advancing clocks, especially in summer, so as to extend daylight hours during conventional waking time. In the Northern Hemisphere, clocks are usually set ahead one hour in late March or in April and are set back one hour in late September or in October

And the people from my guild are NewZealanders who apparently practise this shit. Thus, from today onwards, my raids become 330pm - 730pm. And thus i can't make the raids anymore, since i'll have to leave early every time. -_-

After much deliberation, I decided to just drop WoW entirely (the other options include rescheduling tuition to tuesdays/sat (tues is maintenance day, no WoW) , joining a night raiding guild (like i was in before) and try to switch my tuition to afternoons, etc) as it was too much trouble to do any of those in the parentheses. (that means brackets btw)

Sigh. I'll miss 25man for sure. I hope my 10man group is stable and the people all turn up regularly and on time. And hope we down heroic LK 10 soon, and get our freaking IC drakes. then i can officially quit WoW. :O

On a entirely random side note, i saw Chen Li Ping today! If you have no idea who that is, it's the fat woman in the 7pm show on Chan8 that goes 'JI DAN CHAO YA DAN!' (which means chicken eggs fry with duck eggs which makes totally no sense but it's just her 'curse words'. ) or maybe more famously Aiyoyo Lao Shi in the past.

My family was eating at this really small family restaurant near my house (Not an actual restaurant, just like those you order dishes one) and then my mom suddenly 'eh eh chen li ping'
and she sat at the table next to us. She was reading this script i believe. learning her lines to her next episode!
I wonder what would have happened if i had snatched the script and leaked it online. hahaha. SPOILED.

My mom was making a fuss about how ordinary she looked too. how she didn't dress nicer, put on makeup, etc. Which is quite ridiculous cos you can't expect celebs to dress up every single time they leave the house!! I'm sure they don't exactly LOVE makeup and stuff too.

ANyway... time to go look for a job :/
