fever

the sucky thing about fever is not the fever itself.

Fever
1.
an abnormal condition of the body, characterized by undue rise in temperature, quickening of the pulse, and disturbance of various body functions.
2.
an abnormally high body temperature.

no, the abnormally high body temperature isn't that annoying. sure, it makes you feel extremely uncomfortable and you're like burning on the inside. every breath you exhale feels warm, you feel by breathing faster you make yourself feel better.
that's why it's a sickness, it's supposed to make you feel sick.

no, i dont mind that, but rather it's the other effects of fever that really annoys me to no ends.

The stuffy head.
the #1 recommended remedy for any illness is -sleep/rest. The thing about a fever is that when you sleep and you wake up, your whole head feels stuffed up and you feel giddy and like shit. You feel like going right back to sleep.
But you can't. because your whoel head feels stuffed up and you feel giddy and like shit.
So you lie in bed with your eyes wide shut (you know, when you close your eyes but you're wide awake) (ok maybe that's wrong, cos you can't feel wide awake when you feel giddy and groggy) and try to go back to sleep, try to will the stuffy head away, try to just .. feel better.

But it doesnt. You close your eyes and the swirling goes on in your head, making you feel like falling off your bed. which probably wont help because you'll then feel like falling off the floor which isn't possible.
You open your eyes and try to do somethign to occupy your time - read, play PSP, solve the Rubik's cube, SMS. Within minutes your eyelids want to fall again, your head slouches, your chin dips. Your head is spinning more than the rubik's cube.

The fatigued body.
Yknow when you wake up from a nap/sleep your body will naturally feel a little stiff, then by stretching your arms up and out and leaning here and there you get 'warmed-up' and dont feel so stiff?
Then doesnt happen when you have a fever.
you can be walking around for a good 5 minutes and you still feel that your muscles have as much energy as the feather that just dropped off a chicken.
There is no spring in your step; you can't help but drag your feet. Your arms dangle at yoru sides, occasionally rising to rub your head to ease the stuffy head but it doesn't help.

ok my stuffy head is making my brain draw blanks. i can't think of anything more to say. and my tired arms want to stop typing.

pray for me. :(
