hmm, was just reading xiaxue's blog and saw this ad for a company which you can sign up for and they put ads on your blog, but you only qualify for it if you have 20 unique hits a day. The last time i checked i only have 7 uniques a day, so i didn't think much about it, but decided to check anyway.
Then when i clicked the bravenet counter thing -- i found out i had 21 unique hits today!! wow!! that's like a 300% improvement can!

And not as if i blog alot of interesting things lately.. in fact i think they would be quite boring to those who dunno me and maybe boring to those who know also. All the popular student blogs i know full of pictures.. but i no camera (proper one) and am not a camwhore (1st prerequisite = girl, otherwise it'll be kinda disgusting) so.. dont have lehh.


Anyway why do some of you not like xiaxue ah. when i mention that i'm a xiaxue blog reader then some people will grimace or make a face or something. Well.. she's not THAAAAT entertaining that must must go everyday to check if got update. but oncce in a while it's quite funny to read the things there.
Like for example she made me realise the shamelessness of Lian He Wan Bao. (the chinese newspaper). They actually lifted her entire blog entry and made a front page story out of it. (something about her pointing middle finger at a reckless driver in JB) and took the sluttiest picture they had of her and put it on their front page. -_- what kinda shit newspaper is that.


Ok that aside, anyone wanna study with me ? having very little discipline at home due to 9dragons, really wanna level my character and earn more money but have to study also. so need to go outside.. but study alone very boring.
Study with me!! if you dont know me ..well still study with me we can sit at adjacent tables or something. just leave a comment to arrange a time and date. dont turn up also can then at least i go out of the house to study haha.

Let's see, what have i done in the past 48 hours.
I would say.. about 40 hours game, 8 hours study. -_-

and best friend just left for holiday without saying bye ;( hmmpphh. she better bbuy stuff back.

Meh, i dont like the pressure of having done well and hence expected to do well again. For instance in the last week of school, during the last PE lesson, my teacher was like:
"Ok all of you study hard for block test 2 ah"
then he saw me and
"alan dont study so hard, give the others a chance"

=X lololol. yea i know it was kinda intended as a joke. but it's like.. assumed that i will do well if i study. what if i made alot of careless mistakes? what if i cant remember everything? what if i just can't solve the questions during the exam?

I always preferred to work towards a goal - e.g. dont do that well initially, and strive for better grades (e.g. my Common test in J1 when i got E for math) . There is less pressure to perform, and there is more motivation for improvement. I always think it's easier to improve than it is to maintain a standard.

sigh.

btw i watched 'blades of glory' last night at cathay (so cheap $6.50) with some church peeps. the show is SUPER FUNNY! hahaha. was laughing my ass off most of the show. but i think it's quite crude and have no idea why it's only rated 'PG'. Alot of sexual references (a sex addict club wth?!? funny like hell though) and ... sex-related stuff. bad for kiddies :S
But for a good laugh, i'll highly recommend it. =D

holiday = studiday

When you hit JC2, there's no such thing as school holidays. Every 1 day holiday you'll have extra homework (e.g. Labour Day Assignment, Good Friday weekend assignment, etc) , every long holiday there'll be something to study for (e.g. study for block test 1 during march hols, and block test 2 during june hols, and prelims during sept hols)

They should rename it as studiday. since all we can do is study. what the hell is 'holi' anyway. Ok i had half a mind to go google and check it up but i decided not to. Seriously man these june studidays are gonna be shitty - full of remedials, and have to study every day and night. Exam from all the J1 stuff onwards leh! that's like imbaa.

Soo... i'm starting to shift into study mode. my mentality like car one yknow. must shift gears.

Gear 1 - Decide to think about when to decide when to start studying
Gear 2 - Decide when to study studying
Gear 3 - Draw up timetable / List out all topics needed to study
Gear 4 - Pack all J1/J2 stuff and categorize according to subject
Gear 5 - Pack all subjects more specifically according to tests and chapter notes
Gear 6 - Start studying at low level (2-4 hours a day)
Gear 7 - Study at moderate level (4-6 hours a day)
Gear 8 - Study at intense mugger toad level. (6-8 hours a day)

Right now i'm currently at (ok i just realised 'currently' means the same as 'right now' and is hence redundant but who cares) Gear 4. I just did it.
But cannot anyhow jump to Gear 6 i totally no mood. but slowly shifting. e.g. now i dont have any mood to arrange the notes accordingly (gear 5)

I plan to shift into Gear 6 by end of this week (Sunday), cos next week according to my study plan i'm supposed to start studying. (i havent even draw up the study plan ) Wish me luck .

the slide

woot. today played soccer against YCK Chapel @ Kovan field.

We scored within the first 10 minutes or something.. this guy Chris, timo's colleague, he kinda solo run from their third of the pitch and volleyed a strong shot into the far post. woot!

i didn't play the whole of the first third :( watching from the sidelines and supporting.

Then i was put in as right back in the 2nd third. (oh yea we played 3 thirds. not 2 halves like normal soccer. each third 20 minutes) Basically my job was pretty slack cos the uncle at my side he very lazy just walk around. So i just manmark him and if got ball come just intercept cos he not say very fast or tall or strong or anything. Made some miskicks though :s

Then i made the save of the match. hahhaa k no it's not the save ofthe match but was still quite nice. I made a crucial sliding tackle which prevented what would most likely have been a goal =) after the match they all 'wa alan nice slide man wa that was quite perfect' then i pai seh paiseh just smile and keep quiet la but actually very happy =D hahha. So now can blog SO MUST TELL YOU ABOUT IT. muahaha.


Basically this was the position when their breakthrough came:

I was playing right back, and was watching in case the midfielder burst down. Then dan loh central defence la. corn is the goalie.




Then came a pass from their midfield to their striker, and everyone expected dan loh to clear or something, but i think he fumbled and the bad guy stole the ball and broke through:



(Dan loh is like fallen or too slow to catch up) The Bad guy was one on one with corn! (forgot to draw corn in this picture) . So i had no choice i started sprinting towards him.




CHIONG AH! Must catch him! otherwise open shot and easy goal!




I managed to catch up cos after his first touch which got past danloh, his 2nd touch was lighter cos i think he looked up to see where he was. then the 3rd touch was to control, and shoot on 4th.
So when he was doing that i was sprinting with all my might, and my aim was to slide and block his shot by sliding in front of the ball. But when i saw him pull back to shoot after his 3rd touch, i realised cannot already, so have so slide then. So i slid and kinda poked the ball out of position.
Thus i forced him to take an awkward shot which was both weak and off target (think he aiming far post where confirm score) which corn comfortably saved.


Woohoo. =) hahaha. so happy . In the end we drew though, they scored a STUPID goal which i can't really say much cos i never run back defend. (they put me as right midfielder in the last third.. not smart cos my ball control not say v good. but can play i happy already ha.) What happened was they shot from the left side and goalie made a good save.. then everyone yay yay congratulate him.
Then the rebound went to a guy who was dashing into the penalty box and he just fired the ball into the corner of the goal when everyone still celebrating -_-


Yup yup. so highlight of my match was the slide. got quite heated in the last third when they anyhow call offside, then gid loh got angry then scold them. then he push some guy down. hahaha. hot headed him.

yup, final score, 1-1. no rematch please, basketball next time. basketball > soccer ^_^

my army medical checkup

yoyo. ok time to blog about my army medical checkup :) they didnt say that it was to be secret so i hope i'm not infringing on any laws later they arrest me or something. :S

anyway. the whole building is called Singapore Defence Towers or something like that. It's just one section of that compound that's called CMPB (Central Manpower Base). So at first when i reach there i was like :S hmm. but found my way there in the end.

it's like playing some station games lidat. cos the medical checkup is broken up into 6 stations, then each station got like instructions and a task. They are urine test, blood test(x2), dental test, eyesight test, xray, height and weight, sometestwhichtheysticksuctioncupsonyou, cough test.

Ok i know that's not 6 haha. errr. i dunno leh the checklist put 6.

Anyway i think those army people who work there sure have alot of funny stories to tell.. cos some guys are really quite dumb haha.

Like firstly the urine test.. the guys goes 'Please take one -gestures to a container of these paper strips- and urine on the colours. The toilet is over there' (urine isn't a verb btw. )
I think testing for drugs or diabetes or something. Like one part of the strip has colours and if your pee has some chemicals they'll change to a particular colour. So like supposed to show him the strip la. the colours.
Then i see some people they come out and practically thrust the strip(soaked with pee) in his face it's damn funny. he'll like reel back and woaaa ok thanks you can throw it away.

THEN the stupid blood test. Basically poke you in the vein in your arm to take a tube of your blood. then my Medical Officer was this middleaged man. Ok not middleaged more like old man. Then i previously give blood before ma so i not scared of it. But this old man is siao. Instead of aiming the needle and slowly inserting it into your vein.
He kinda like.. ready.. aim.. FIRE. Like jabbed the thing into me. haha. i guess that's how it's done in army. then he didnt leave it down so it was kinda pulling my skin up when it was still in me.
btw some guy fainted when it was his turn for blood test :p ha

the other tests.. all normal.

Oh then after all that there's like this 2 hour IQ test. THe questions all make you think alot.. like they give you four shapes then there's some pattern la. then what is the next shape that follows the pattern and you have to choose. Then got arithmetic and algebra and physics questions also. :s it's 10 sections, 30 questions or so each section. And each section is timed.
I didnt finish the first 2-3 sections on time.. cos no clock no timer so how i know sia. Then the rest i chiong faster and could finish the rest. But some really guess man dunno the answer.


ha hope i dont fail it. later i kena classified as low IQ or something then cannot get good vocation :S ahhh.

I KILLED GEM'S TD MILLION HP DAMAGE TEST

(note: i think the tagboard is at the bottom of the page now, the big screenshots i put up pushed it there . lol)

ok erm this post wont make any sense at all to 90% of my blog readers, the other 5% won't understand it, probably only 5% will appreciate it.

Ok just for the benefit of introduction, a Tower Defence is a type of custom map in Warcraft where you build towers to defend a particular endpoint from waves of creeps(monsters) which come level by level. Each level you get money as you monsters, and hence can build stronger towers , etc.

Gem Tower's Defence is by far one of the most fun tower defences i've ever played, and is definitely my favourite atm. What sets it apart from the usual TDs (besides poker TD which isn't half as fun) is its random factor - you don't control what gems specifically you get, it's randomly given. All you do is upgrade gem quality, to increase the chance of getting stronger gems, and choose whatever gems you want to keep (each round you get 5 random gems, can only keep 1) or combine (2 weaker gems combine to a stronger one).
It also has a unique ideal mazing structure, never seen before in other TDs.

And, every 14 levels there will be a damage test. This is a specially high HP creep that runs through your maze, and if you kill it you get bonus gold. (42 levels in game in total, so 3 damage tests) The HP of the final damage test used to be 500k, and with each version, its HP was increased, and currently stands at 1000000 (MILLION).

I've tried countless number of times before tonight to kill it, but my best was only dealing around 700~k damage to it.



BUT TONIGHT. I KILLED IT.
I took some screen caps to capture the momentous moment. (is there such a word as momentous)

As it prepares to leave my maze for the last time.. it's HP is already red (my maze makes the damage test go in and out 3 times in total)

And it gets semi-perma-stunned by my slates.

PERMASTUNNED. The Damage test cant move and has been stuck here for about 30 seconds already because of my clever tactic :P

singnet sucks

Ive been having difficulty blogging lately cos of some error message that keeps appearing. i check out the blogger help group thing and realise i'm not the only one -- All the Singnet users are also experiencing the exact same problem and have been complaining about it.
seriously man every major blogger error that occurs has to do with Singnet. i think someone's trying to hack into Singnet to make Starhub more popular.


Anyway erm.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WINSOME!! ahh feel quite bad i was supposed to meet her for movie , treat her ma. then i suddenly found out in the morning that the basketball match against AJ was today and not tomorrow (team board wrote tmr)
So... i told her to postpone, so that i can go watch the match =X (which we got thrashed anyway. pewi never play. he like star player la score the most every match. he got injured in the first quarter :S )
Well, apparently she went out with her friends and watched movie too. at least she still had fun. :) sorry !


Anyway ya, SAJC basketball is out of the season already. HCI and AJ qualified for semis, the other side i think IJC and another school i dunno who.

this week is a gay week - wednesday chem test, thursday NS test , fri math test, sat physics test.
Ha having my NS medical checkup on thurs. heard it's 5-6 hours long wthhh

Hullo. I'm hijacking this blog entry because blogger isn't allowed me to create a new post. so i'm editting this old post. will separate them when i can create.

In 9 dragons when you run out of Health or Vital Energy (sth like Mana in other games) you have to medidate to recover. This is a screencap of several different clans medidating (each clan has a different animation for medidation)

HAHAHA oWNNNNN. My score was like almost triple the previous score. and i wasn't even close to dying but i had to stop because school was over. (haha i played throughout class :p ) had to suiciide -_- if i continued probably can hit 500k or something.
The game is something like tetris, but just 2 colored (may be different color or same) bubbles come down as a block. Then once 4 or more same colored bubbles touch each other they are cleared.
So basically clear as much as you can and you get points loh.

wahahah.

Oh, and had some scholarship interview. the principal damn weird she keep asking about my CCA ask what i planned for it how to improve it bla. And she's anti-gaming so i think she's anti-alan cos i play games and it's written on my profile i won some gaming competition.

Well it's really freaky it's been occuring since last year or something? Me and chris are like telepathic man.
One most common occurence which happens almost all the time (well ok not all the time but happened at least 20 times already) is when at a random time i just pick up my phone to msg her then suddenly i receive sms and it's from her. Same thing happens for her too (i sms her when she just about to type sms to me)

Another type of this telepathy is when we both say exactly the same thing. Like we sms at the same time (which is already telepathic) and comment about the same thing!? Then sometimes she'll echo what i'm thinking. scary!
