I actually wrote this as a comment on her blog but it got too long so decided to blog it. anyway this blog post has alot of photos after this part so .. can skip it if you're not angweiqin.
This is regarding her latest blog post. read the last part below the last picture of that post.

no leh, 'literally' and 'virtually' have very different meanings.
Like you can say "I went to the farm and killed virtually all the chickens!"
Meaning you killed ALMOST all the chickens, maybe missed 1-2.
But if you try to replace it with 'literally', you get: "I went to the farm and literally killed all the chickens!"
which means i REALLY DID kill the chickens and 'killing the chickens' isn't some form of suggestive phrase that means something else like 'kick the bucket', etc.
They do NOT have any similar meaning whatsoever and cannot be used interchangeably.
~~
anyway, on to the photos
rofl. this was at CGH when i went for physio or something. Everyone who enters has to wear a face mask. just snapped a random pic for fun.
on the bus to R&R. I was actually feeling like total shit but i forced a smile so that i can have at least ONE photo for taiwan.
and the next photo is classic Engrish
.
.
.
rofl!!
if you cant see it, the heading is 'snake' and the items are 'french fries' , 'cream of corn'... go figure what they meant as the heading.
this was some burger place in Leofoo Village , some theme park we went to which i already went before (read previous blog post i mentioned all this already).
it was too funny i had to snap a pic
walter.
enoch.
took alot more pics with ppl actually, but with their camera and they never send to me. bleahz . probably on facebook by now though.
ok the next few are just some self indulgent photos.. cos i think my hair is the perfect length now! super nice when styled!! nice to style!!
AND I HAVE TO CUT IT TMR OMGWTFGGPWNZ.
im feeling v happy about my hair.
different angles
ANYWAY.
ok enough of my awesome hair , went to Breek's Cafe @ Marine Square just now for chris' bday dinner treat.
i uploaded them in 'large' size on purpose =)
DROOL.
ok the place has a fairly nice ambience..
just that right next to the entrance there's a hugeass 'Seoul Gardens' sign which ive no idea why. yknow the logo? yea it's there. and it's big. but there's no seoul gardens next to it.
this is the menu btw.
lol. the menu is like giant. and the pictures are huge. i was telling chris "If the food they serve is this big i'll come back every week."
anyway, we ordered some set meal which comes with a soup and a drink. it was some promotion they had. total price was about $43 after GST/Service tax.
Appetizer - Soup of the day - chicken. Rather flavorful with some shredded chicken inside.
What i liked about this was that it was served at the -perfect- temperature. Whether by luck or what.. it struck me right away. It's like not too hot that you have to blow on it to drink it, but not cool or lukewarm such that it's not nice to drink. It's just perfectly hot. =D
Chris' main dish of Chicken Patties. basically some thick chicken patties (yknow, the stuff in between your hamburgers) with melted cheddar and stuff on top, served with 2 big cubes of potato.
chris insists that the potato was special, so i tried it, and it's really quite nice! The best way i can describe it is it's texture is in between mashed potato and a normal potato. And the taste is quite concentrated and nice.
My main dish of Cajun Chicken.
This is the most different Cajun chicken ive tasted in my life. the sauce isn't Cajun sauce, it's some spicy chilli sauce. It isn't NOT NICE, just.. not as nice as the cajun chicken at say, Astons. Of course the best would be Botak Jones =)
Fries were only average, some were not cooked properly and not proper texture.
The way they serve it was quite nice though. Brought in the sizzling hot pan and the waitress asks 'would you like me to pour the sauce for you?' and i said yes pls then she empties the bowl of sauce onto the chicken and PSZSSSZSZZT it sizzles.
LOOKS pretty impressive and nice la. but the taste.. not quite there. ha.
abit like the Swenson's banana thing that becky likes where they make it sizzle in front of you. fo
Mango Puree!
This is officially my favourite drink ever. (remind me if i forget. lolol. hey it's not that easy to remember k, since i can't drink it often. i can't like, order at the coffeeshop "Eh uncle! one milo beng, one teh-O, and one mango puree! )
The puree is thick in texture and flavour, not being too sweet but sweet enough to make me go 'AHHH' with the first few sips i take. haha.
With a touch of cherry and peach slice on the top.
nicenice!!
Btw this is called a 'mocktail'. apparently it's because it mocks a cocktail since it looks like one but has no alcohol in it. seriously! it's what they called it on the menu and in the menu it explains it this way.
yum.
and this last bit is just me and chris camwhoring.
had to persuade her quite abit but no choice must take pics! cos i'm cutting my lovely awesome hair.
it's really damn nice can. i dont say this often. but. yea.
and chris i swear i already filtered out the unglam shots of you like those u look fat/nostrils big whatever shit k! these are the cream of the crop :p hahaha.
i dunno why i look like i'm crying.
trying to take a photo of her heels.. but failed! so unglam got her legs behind then one foot got shoe one no shoe. ahah. just looks funny.
ah, pass.
think she doesnt wanna camwhore anymore.
or not?
all these noob 'from-the-top' angle shots are taken by her. all cut off until like noob.
see, can't see my hair.
ok thanks that's all i have BYEEEE.
wow this was a long post.

piece by piece
aight this post is pretty random but it's all about taiwan.
aircon weather
When we first got off the bus in Taiwan.. i felt a gust of cold air which i thought was from the insides of the bus.. cos it was the same temperature! Like the kinda feeling you get when you stand at the entrance of a 7eleven or something like that.
As it turns out, for the next 2 days, the weather was like that! it was really weird, imagine being outdoors and feeling aircon temperature kinda air touching your skin. super cold can! especially in the morning.
Burning Up
(a diary entry i made in taiwan)
There is a song title like that right?
Some Elvis song? gah. it's hot here.
Due to an unforseen circumstancce that i'm too lazy to elaborate on..
I'm in some safety vehicle. The weather must be.. 36 degrees celsius? higher? probably higher. and it's even hotter cos i'm in the inside of this enclosed vehicle, which kinda makes it like a sauna.
I just know i'm burning up.
040609
the day it rained for over 12 hours.
it started from the morning about.. 4AM? was woken up by the sound of rain but went back to sleep (only to wake about an hour later for the normal wakeup time -__- army sucks) anyway, it carried on raining till like.. 10+ at night?
the guys had to go out for some exercise, and when they came back.. they were all shivering and trembling.
sheesh, if they only experienced what we had in sispec - rain every single day of our field camp.
imagine sleeping at night with rain pelting against your face, your wet socks clinging to your feet and the wind slapping your huddled body.
You shiver - an involuntary muscoskeletal response that generates minimal heat within our body, our natural response to correct the imbalance - but you don't seem to get any warmer.
how to? the air around you is cold, the gusting winds and relentless rain serve as constant reminders that you'll never be comfortable.
Deep Fried GG-ness
Now, there was ALOT of ordering of food - practically every night? and the food is not like.. pizza or normal food - it was all deep fried, predominantly chicken cutlet (or 'ji pa' in chinese) . I think this is one of the causes of the next point.
Everything that came from the order menu was deep fried - be it tofu, sotong, chicken, chicken skin (yes they sold chicken skin. one small bag for about S$1++. )
Everyday i could literally feel the fats piling up in my arteries and getting myself ready for a stroke anytime.
Virus of GG.
Question - what's worse than falling sick one day before R&R?
Answer - waking up the morning of R&R feeling even worst.
(did i use the worse/worst correctly. hmm.)
Ok what exactly happened was, the day before R&R i started having diarrhoea. It was so minimal that it was almost un-noticeable - such that i didn't notice it till other people started faling sick, getting more obvious symptoms like vomitting, not feeling well, etc.
then i realised i've been to the toilet quite a few times and.. yea i had diarrhoea.
then the morning of R&R.. i woke up at freaking 3.40AM and had to go to the toilet. I stayed there till 4.30AM -_- Drifted back to sleep only to wake up at 5+ to start to pack up and leave the bunks.
First thing i said when i woke up, i turned to mao /zp next to me : "Die la i think i'm not going R&R already". ZP just gave the blur morning response while mao tried to be more optimistic telling me it was only the start of the day, maybe by night time i'd feel better.
I FELT TERRIBLE.
it was like my stomach was in a vice, and some sadistic torturer was turning and unturning the handle to squeeze and unsqueeze it. i still felt like going to shit and to top it off i had a terrible nauseous feeling and my head was spinning.
i got some medicine from the camp doctor and got a jab. i still felt like shit and i did go to shit countless number of times too while i was waiting to see him.
throughout the 1 day of guided tour, i felt like dying. i just wanted to -oops faint. then wake up in Singapore.
we went to some theme park which all i did was buy a hot cocoa and drink. There were alot of exciting rides - i've been there last time i went to Taiwan - but the only ride i took was the Toilet Bowl of Doom.
guess what i ate for lunch?
look at your thumb. that's the portion of rice i managed to swallow. ok no wait, probably half of your thumb. and i nibbled a piece off a piece of egg and couldn't eat anymore. It felt like i was gonna spray the table with vomit anytime.
dinner was the same.
In the end i slept in my hotel room the whole night, and the whole of the next morning/afternoon (till we went to the airport) Yup, went everyone was out for their Free and easy, shopping their hearts out, i was giving the hotel business. :/
so depressing right, fall sick during the R&R period. but by that time i was already in the 'cantwaittogethome' mood so it wasnt that bad. just.. sleep lor. anyway i shopped in Taipei before and it's good that i didn't get to spend more. can save to play WoW. HA.
speaking of which, just spent $69.90 on the expansion set of WoW la. Wrath of the Lich King. freaking ex!! :@ grr.
~~~
ok , i must thank xiaxue for giving me the inspiration to write again. Before, i was really lazy to blog and didn't know what to write. That was like .. the first part of this post? up to before 'Virus of GG' part was before. Don't know if you noticed a subtle change in the tone and everything after that.
After reading her blog i remembered what it was like to write and what it was like to have the.. exaggerated humour thing which i loved to write with last time. Hard to describe it. oh well the point is i can write non-stop now without having to struggle with words and think of what to say.
rawr.
photos? nothing much taken in taiwan, cos i was sick during R&R remember. may have more photos tmr, gonna hang out with bestie, we'll see =D
