rejected

Thank you for your interest and application for a Civil Service Scholarship.

2 We have carefully evaluated your abilities and accomplishments in school, and have considered all aspects of your application. We regret to inform you that after reviewing your application thoroughly, we are not able to offer you a PSC Scholarship. Nevertheless, we have referred your application to the relevant Ministries according to your career preferences/choices, for the Ministries’ consideration. The Ministries will retain your application and will contact you in future if there are suitable opportunities that may arise.

brightsparks replies!

refer to : http://alanz-.blogspot.com/2009/03/moe-teaching-scholarship-not-for.html

And someone from BrightSparks actually left a comment there!

Hello from BrightSparks!

We are sorry for the bad experience you have
regarding emails. We definitely do not want to send emails about scholarships to
people who do not want to receive them.

Our users all register for
BrightSparks on your own volition. You also have a check box under My
Preferences to say that you do not want to receive such emails. So all you need
to do to stop receiving emails is to uncheck the box.

In addition, there
is a link at the bottom of every email sent that allows you to change your
subscription settings.

Thank you for allowing us to clarify. We know it
may seem to be rather particular for us to be taking a personal blog entry so
seriously but please realise that Google crawls and indexes your blog so that
anyone can read it. This means that we have to respond to all allegations which
we feel are unfair to us. Otherwise, other readers may think negatively of us.

We will also take note of the feedback and will find some way to teach
your juniors and subsequent users on how to change their email settings better.

lol. ok i shall write a reply to BrightSparks and let Brightsparks find this again.. (the mentioning of the numerous 'brightsparks' is intentional, so that it will be 'crawled' and 'indexed' by Google. what on earth does 'crawls my blog' mean??! )

Dear BrightSparks Personnel (he/she actually left a name but i forgot and i'm lazy to open the comment again) ,

First of all, i do not have any serious issue regarding the emails your people send. Even though they are plentiful in number, i guess they're comprehensive, covering many sectors of the economy and hence have to be numerous.

Next, i'm too lazy to go login to BrightSparks and uncheck whatever box to take me out of whatever list. (I have to google brightsparks for the website link, [which will be crawled and indexed right?] go to the site, log in [if i can remember my password], locate the checkbox.. etcetc)
oh wait i just read your next paragraph where there's a link in the email that brings me directly to the website. ha nvm then.
But if you're reading this can you just change it for me ? take me out of the mailing list :p

Lastly, the main point of the post wasn't even to criticize the emailing system and it's apparent that you missed the point completely with your concluding statement. The whole point was to criticize the AD itself, which had blatant language errors in them.
I know you guys at BrightSparks are good in your language, apparent in phrases such as "on your own volition". Wow, i didn't even knew what that meant. *refer to post note*
so perhaps you should let MOE (is this gonna get crawled and indexed?) know, and have them drop by too :)

Alright, thank you for your time in crawling and indexing for my blog (wait, does Google do that or do we? oh well) , can't wait to read your reply =)

*post note*

volition- –noun
1.
the act of willing, choosing, or resolving; exercise of willing: She left of her own volition.
2.
a choice or decision made by the will.
3.
the power of willing; will.

AND, i take back what i said about the English! there's a grammatical error after all in :

"Our users all register for BrightSparks on your own volition."
It should be on THEIR own volition.

=D
