i'm so LOST

For those of you who are still following LOST (which I think i can count on one hand) , season 5 is coming soon! In feb .. something. early feb. Hence i've been rewatching S4 to refresh my memory on what has happened.

I love how the series is like.. every episode leaves you with jaw-dropping revelations and OMG moments and huhwtfisgoingon endings! hahaha. i just finished ep2 which ends with 'because i have a man on their boat!' omg! haha.
One overlooked part of the show is also the awesome soundtrack! Yes, even though it's not like Chuck or OC with nice indie songs and all, but the symphonic music which crescendoes at climaxes are just SUPER fitting and lends a huge part to the mood of the whole show.


ok i'll do a recap here about season 4.. for the benefit of.. any rare fan of LOST who is still watching .. and my stupid bestie who doesnt wanna marathon s4 with me.
I'm going to do this as i watch more episodes, so it's like bit by bit revealing things. haha.

Ok it's gonna be very broken and bad , i'm just retelling the key points of each ep k.


The season starts where the previous left off, the survivors of Oceanic 815 realise there is a team of people coming to their island, supposedly to rescue them. This team of 4 consist of the pilot Frank, Miles, Daniel, Charlotte.

Jack and the others formed a group to 'get ready to be rescued'. But Locke had other ideas and believed the people coming were bad, since Charlie in the previous season, in his dying moments, had told them that the boat coming was 'Not Penny's boat'.
Thus, Locke leads this other group of people consisting of Claire/Hurley/Sawyer and some others to move away deeper into the jungle to avoid contact with these newcomers.

However, Jack and the rest soon realise that these people coming were not coming for them, but for Benjamin Linus. However, Ben already knows this, as he had Michael planted as a spy on their boat.

Sayid leaves with Desmond and Frank on a helicopter for their boat to find answers to why they were there.
Up to now, 'flashforwards' ( ah yes, a characteristic of s4 is the flashforward, instead of the trademark flashbacks of LOST. It first occured in the season finale of s3 :) )
tell us about 6 survivors who managed to get back to the real world. Hurley is in a mental institution with some people trying to get answers about what happened to the other survivors from him. Jack is back, so is Sayid and Ben. Sayid is working for Ben as a hitman, to supposedly protect the rest of the survivors.

E4- flashforwards show Kate back in the real world too, and she's being trialed for her many felonies. her trial eventually ends with her getting 10 years probation only. It is revealed that she has a 'son'.. which at the end she calls 'Aaron'. (Claire's baby!)

On the island, kate brings miles to talk to Ben. Miles tells Ben he will lie to his boat crew that Ben is dead if he gets 3.2 million dollars. Locke eventually finds out about this and 'banishes' Kate from them. Sawyer and kate spend the night together but in the morning Kate leaves for the beach.

e5 - the helicopter that left 1 day ago still hadn't reached the boat. Daniel tells the survivors it's because how much time has passed doesn't signify how long the helicopter has actually been flying.. due to some mystical effect the island has.

This ep is largely desmond centric.. while he's on the helicopter he keeps flashing to some unknown time when he's in the military. Then he suddenly flashes back to the island time. then back to the military time.
He speaks to Daniel on the island via the radio phone , who directs him to the 'present' Daniel (in the same military time) to tell him about the 'time travel' he's experiencing.

e6 is juliet centric.. just traces the life of juliet before oceanic 815, on and off the island. It is revealed that ben likes juliet, saying 'you are mine'. etc. boring ep. Miles and Charlotte break away from the group to find this gas station to deactivate the gas which they claim Ben may some day release to kill everyone on the island.

e7 is Sun-centric.
there are flash-forwards to present time to reveal Sun is one of the Oceanic six and about to give birth. on the island Jin finds out about Sun's affair and is pissed offfff. but later on he forgives her la.
Then on the boat desmond and sayid find out that ben's 'spy' on the boat is MICHAEL. shocking .

e08 is about michael, and how The Others recruited him to get on the freighter (which brought daniel farraday, miles, and the rest to the island. oh yea, if i didn't mention earlier, their purpose of coming is to find Benjamin Linus, and they were hired by Charles Whitmore, who bought a fake airplane and planted it at the bottom of the ocean to fake the whole world that that was Oceanic 815 (because he wants to exploit the island))

e09 is Ben centric.. which shows him time travelling around the world .
On the island, some people have came and found locke's group and have alex captive. (they killed karl and danielle) They tried to get Ben to come out in exchange for Alex but he didn't, so .. they killed her.

Ben manages to timetravel to the present day, when Oceanic Six are back. ben then recruits sayid for him by convincing him that someone charles whitmore hired killed his wife. Sayid becomes like, Ben's hitman.

On the island, Ben uses the smoke monster to kill off the people attacking them, then they head towards Jacob for answers for Locke.
Flashes to present day where Ben turns up in Charles bedroom, telling him he was going to kill his daughter, penelope.

OK sorry you know what i'm quite tired of updating every ep.. i'll refresh whoever wants to know about the last 5 eps k. yup, 14 eps in total.

quick update

ok i'm actually quite tired but decided to come blog because i haven't written anything much in awhile. I'm actually on a one week break now, next thurs will be going back to cover another person at IBM in their accounts dept, then i'm hoping to get this more long term (6 months) computer technician job. ha. wish me luck.


On a random note, i'm v upset with the cheese fries price!
Cheese Fries used to be 90 cents upgrade for your sides, now it's $1.70?!? Like totally ridiculous? It's like paying for another side la! Can someone tell me where to buy nice microwave fries or sth? Then i'll just go buy some cheese dip or those bottle kind, then make my own!!


anw since i'm rather free now, (for the week)... i really feel like performing some street magic!! haha. i've been playing around with my cards alot and i think i got my routine pretty solid. Now i just gotta work on the actual delivery and impromptu reactions.
Cos yknow, different audiences react differently, so i have to adapt quickly to make the performance enjoyable and suited to them.

I've actually had this thought since after O levels!! i think that was the time i was really into magic and i learnt the bulk of my tricks (which i've forgotten half already)
But my own personalised routine i still do sporadically over the past 4 years la. (omg i dunno where the word came from it just flew out of my fingertips. it means 'randomly' btw.)

Ok i think i'm off to go practise my routine more. i shall leave you with this nice long performance by this funny old guy

The Kiasu Poison

after just a few days of work, i'm very annoyed by kiasu singaporeans. No, these people aren't found at work. at work they're polite, courteous people who hold doors open for others and smile and greet each other in the morning.

i think there's some toxin in the Singapore air. The Kiasu Poison. TKP. The moment these people step out of their offices and start heading home and inhale TKP, they transform and mutate into ugly abominations.

When the train comes, (or even if it isn't) they begin to move strategically towards the yellow markings that indicate the different entrances. Those with some level of resistance to TKP just stand behind the demarketed line, but inch as close as possible.

Those who are badly infected stand in the MIDDLE of the freaking zone, desperate to be the first one to board the train. Are they stupid or blind? People need to come out right. Oh yea but wait, TKP neutralizes the senses, it just makes you want to be first, to be comfortable, to be selfish.

When the door opens, they RUN in. I've seen some ppl LITERALLY run for the seat, it's almost comical. Then as they sit there snug and comfortable, TKP surges, making them blind too. It doesn't matter if there are elderly people or ladies standing near them. No, they need to be comfortable what! standing on the train is VERY tiring , especially with TKP weakening the body.

I think we are in need of some antidote. Legend has said that a particular curly-haired man with yellow boots holds some antidote in his Repelling Anti Poison formula. I think the government actually released some of this R.A.P at MRTs all day long for a period of time, and i think it actually helped the situation abit.

But as all bio students know, virus (or bacteria?) develop a resistance to such things over time. So i guess now, TKP is immune to the R.A.P and still plagues all commuters.

So i guess i'm stuck with having to stand on trains for my commuting, since I've actually a strong resistance to TKP due to my inoculation of Caustic Orange UV Rays Through Enormous Sharp Yawns when i was a little boy so i don't behave in such an embarassing manner as the infected.

Ok, time to go and start mentally preparing myself for work tomorrow and plan all my activities and make ample calculations so that i can finish my work fast tomorrow.

ah sorry i've been rather inactive lately.. (who am i saying sorry to? i think i know who read my blog.. about 5 ppl? ha i dunoooooooooo)

just started work this week! I'm working at IBM @ Expo .. yes, freaking far, 1 hour journey everyday. maybe i should try taking a bus.. heard it's faster. but then i'm scared i'll be late. hmm.

i'm covering for some person.. i think her job is 'accounts assistant' or something like that. there is ALOT of things to do. I understudied her for 2 days, and i already have 7 pages of notes of what to do for this and that. AND i'm not entirely confident of doing everything by myself. cos it' s very complicated!!

need to cash in cheques (have to remember which banks for which cheques.. not easy), prepare various forms.. respond to emails .. etc. literally a dozen different things that can and will happen.

AHHHH.

hope i dont screw up (too badly) this week.. when i'm on my own.

Dessert! FRIED MARS BALLS! These are damn good ok! can be bought from this little booth @ B2 of PS. Raffles City also got! Try asking for more icecream, you need it to balance out the super sweetness of the MARS balls =)

the stayover

This year's new year's eve/day was much better than last year!

Last year was spent at jurong island.. and I didn't even bother to countdown because I had duty the next day and needed to sleep. (nevertheless, we got activated at 1+AM still. -_- )

This year was so much better! Started off with watchnight service in church wih some sharing by some people. verlene was so cute lol talk about random stuff like 'we went to east coast park to cycle' which is totally irrelevant in a testimony? lol.

Anyway, after the countdown and message and some wastingtimedownstairsdoingnothing we finally started the stayover!

Played bridge, Taboo (my favourite game!) and this game called MAD GAB. totally enjoyed the taboo time man, i just love the random guesses that come from the game ESPECIALLY FROM JESSLYN. OMG SHE'S THE FUNNIEST.

I swear she's like a younger raylia when it comes to taboo (omg raylia... :( more about this later) in case you don't know what raylia is like, let me quote one of my older entries:

LOLOLOLOLOL omg seriously we were all rofl and laughing our eyes out!! (LOEO? i should make a new internet term. LOEO!)

there was also another funny moment which originated from me! ha. The word was 'briefs'. and because giddy was the closest person to me i just blurted "giddy wears this under his pants!" and everyone managed to get it in seconds, despite ROFL at my description.

THEN. i think jesslyn was after me, so she started doing her cards... and i don't know why so coincidental but one of her words was 'boxers'. Then she went " oh oh! giddy also wears this under his pants!!"
LOEO!!
Then everyone was like 'omg giddy how many things you wear under your pants!" hahahahaha.

I don't know if this is as funny as it sounds, but it was really freaking hilarious at that point of time.. i laugh until cannot breathe and was tearing. hahaha.

Then cheryl was lingering around then for the next few people who trying to give the clues she randomly throws in a 'giddy also wears this under his pants!' which was still hilarious for a while. haha.

man, must always get jesslyn to play taboo, super entertaining ha.

so, 2010. it's time to make some new year resolutions! ah, so refreshing to be finally out of army. the past 2 years i was suffering under the bondage of the army (is under the correct preposition?) and every moment felt like a waste of time.

So this year is a new year! a good year! finally going to start uni.. and it's my 21st year! that means all my peers will be turning 21 too! hope i get invited to alot of parties! haha. i wonder if teehao will inv me. bet he forget who i am le. rawrr. john said he'll inv.. becky said will inv.. quick more more. ooh pewi also invited me. yay.
on a similar note... i don't remember birthdays! i used to save them in my old phone in my calendar, but since that phone spoilt i've given up trying to remember birthdays. cos i'm bad at it! ugh.

As for my own.. i don't know what i want to do!

who wanna help me organise my 21st birthday party? lol.
